The third egg has been laid either the evening of 12 March or early 13 March. Slightly cooler weather is predicted for the weekend along with showers and possible thunderstorms. Last year our pair left the eggs vulnerable during a cold snap that included thunderstorms. Hopefully the osprey will stay on the nest and continue to incubate the eggs.

The time between eggs is good, the last to hatch can be at a disadvantage if they are to far apart.

3 would be a good clutch...
I agree Linda!

I was thinking when I saw her looking at her 3 eggs that Roy Dennis in Scotland has a theory that egg markings/colorings are unique to each female osprey. I have no idea of his scientific approach/data collection methodologies but who knows....
Hopefully now that the Osprey pair are more mature they will remain attentive through this cooler weekend. How exciting to see three eggs!
The changing of the guard--what a neat thing to watch! Dad giving Mom a little break? Looks like the pair is doing a good job.
