MG has a darker streaked head than GJ, which has more white on the back.

Thank you that was perfect...I was wondering that myself.. I cant believe they are so big. It is amazing to go look at the pictures from day one.

Thank you for photos showing distinguishing markings. Very helpful.

Surprised mother is still feeding the young ones. On other cams, mother osprey is pushing self feeding, and chicks are younger than MG and GJ. She's obviously a very protective mother.

Having this blog adds a great deal to the experience. Thanks!

Thanks for the close up pictures and explanation about the differences between MG and GJ. Because GJ hatched first, I thought s/he would take the first flight. I guess after this number of weeks, who hatched first doesn't make any difference. Interesting that mama is still feeding her young--who are just about her size.

Do you suppose the siblings communicate with each other in some way, perhaps unknown to humans?

I think they are chickens rather than Ospreys.......afraid to leave the nest......Ha Ha. It seems they are hanging on the edge just itching to fly but scared to do it.

MG has been flying around most of the day. GJ has yet to leave the nest.
