The osprey that was on our nest today does not appear to be our male or female from last year, Benecio and Bella. The head markings are drastically different than the 2009 parents.
The osprey on the nest today looks like a first year bird. It appears to have white tips on it's feathers. It may be a juvenile that didn't migrate by the book.
around 3:15 pm. I've yet to check out the markings to verify whether or not it is the male osprey, Benecio.
