05 February 2010

Not much action on our nest. We did have an osprey on the communications tower yesterday, but he/she didn't stay very long. It could be all the storms that have been passing through the last few weeks that is delaying the return of Bella and Benecio.

Another front is expected to arrive this afternoon bringing 1 to 3 inches of rain. We're optimistically awaiting our couple to arrive and begin their 2010 family!

Very excited as well for them to arrive.. i noticed a couple working on the nest over here on New Orleans rd. tower as well as two in HHP.. Oh yes and Dexter who I don't think ever left.. He is the osprey who sits on the light poles on the cross island bridge and eats his fish..Look forward to a successful season this year and talking to everyone.

On Sunday 1:32 pm I caught a few photos of a Osprey on the nest...
I think it was a adult.

Was anyone able to ID the adult?

There seems to be a bit more Spanish moss on the nest this morning.

Carol,

An osprey was on our nest this morning, 8 February, bringing in sticks and spanish moss. It appeared to be a male, which closely resembled Benecio.
