Thought I'd start a new thread from our last post.....

Hope all are having a nice fall so far. Seems so far off til 2011 nesting season. Let's all keep our fingers crossed for a successful season. I discovered another webcam and thought it might be of interest. They have a nice recap on video of their 2009 season. http://www.ospreyhouse.asn.au/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=112&Itemid=89 Let me know if you enjoy it.
Keep watching we never know what we might see on the cam.
Moderator thanks to you and all involved with this project. Any word on a live cam for next year?
Thanks,
Mary Pat

Mary Pat,

Thanks for the post. The board has been quiet for the most part since September. Yes, the 2011 season does seem far off, but it will be here before you know it.

We are still looking into video streaming, though the overall cost of the equipment is preventing us from moving forward with that at this time. If we can find a cost effective approach we will let every one know.

Thanks Mary Pat and mod...I sent MG a e-mail last week on the same site. I have caught both of the Aussie-Ospreys on the nest several times :)

If live video is not in the budget then could it be possible to get a view of all the nest? And looking at it now boy will they, whoever claims the nest, have their work cut out for them. It is so barren.
Beth, great that have been able to see the osprey on the new cam. I have not.
Thanks,
Mary Pat

Mary Pat,

I am not sure of the clearances we have with all the antennas surrounding the nest. I know we discussed it in the past. We would have to fabricate a new bracket to hold the camera. It would be great to have the entire nest in one shot as opposed to panning the camera about the nest. I'm not sure at this time when or if that may happen.

Not to post only for MG-FYI

Osprey on the Aussie nesst now,
Lisa from Blackwater noted how the head is whiter than ours.

Did you get my e-mail with a 2nd site info?

Can someone post the link to the Aussie nest please?
I've been watching the antics on the eagles nest in Sidney, BC Canada. They are a funny pair.

Each time I check there is less and less nesting materials there. The next occupants have much to do.

Happy Holidays and a Healthy, Osprey New Year to all my chat peeps.

Happy New Year and wishes for a great nesting. Time to start a new blog for 2011.

Hi Beth. I couldn't get the Aussie webpage to open. Said to check my browser security settings. Any suggestions?

Happy New Year. Hopefully it will be a good one for watching ospreys. We didn't have a good season here in NY. Three major nests remained empty. This link I'm posting is for a nest in Dunedin Florida and the osprey have been seen on the nest.http://ospreynest.info/ospreycam.php
