Well, they finally did it. We wish mama and papa a very good season! They worked hard to get it all started. Thanks, MG, for the first pictures.

Maybe to remember all those who are suffering in Japan, we could name the pair Hana (graceful) & Haru (born in spring).

Thank you so much for the super pictures! Good luck to mama and papa! Now perhaps they get a chance to finish building their nest a bit more.

Hooray for the ospreys! What is the usual time between eggs?

Females usually lay between two to four eggs, one to three days apart. The eggs will hatch in the same sequence as they were laid , in about 40 days.

The last time we had eggs was during the 2009 season with Bella and Benecio.

Weather doesn't look too great for the next few days ... so let's keep our fingers crossed.
I have been keeping an eye on the nest most of the pm and I hope I'm wrong but have not seen dad yet? Mama appears slightly restless compared to this am.

The male has been on the nest several times throughout the day. He is there now.
