Our male appeared at 7:05 this morning and the female flew off. We have noticed a few more palm fronds and sticks around the nest so dad is still hard at work. I'm sure the hard rain throughout the past several days has hampered his efforts. We are predicted to have more rain today than mostly sunny into next week.

The pair have remained pretty steady over the last several days of heavy rain ... today will be another test. They appear to have all the right instincts.

It is possible for the female to have her third egg today. The average clutch size is three eggs.

If I recall correctly, if all goes well the first egg should hatch approx Apr 29 (35 days?)
3 eggs ... mmmm ...

Moments ago I thought dad brought in a fish - mom did not hesitate a moment - grabbed it and took off!
Guess she is hungry!

Hey DB,

I was watching the same thing and thinking he better start bringing in bigger fish; otherwise, he is going to tire quickly when he has more mouths to feed.

My thoughts exactly ... quite funny though!
