31 March 2011

We may have three eggs, though not confirmed. The female was acting a bit odd around 3:17. Hopefully she'll move so we can get a good look.

Update...Yes, We now have our third egg which she laid at 3:17 on Thursday, 31 March.

I noticed the same thing around that time, although I can only check in every now & then. I was wondering if a 3rd egg would appear. Seems to be having that same odd behavior right now (4:15) Lowering her head & kind of pushing her head outward & forward......could there be a 4th egg coming?? Or maybe she's just adjusting, now that there are 3 to sit on! :-)

What I noticed is that she was not sitting flat on the eggs in her usual posture, but seemed to be hovering above the eggs, appeared uncomfortable and circling around the "bowl" area with her chest well outside bowl but her tail area over the 2 eggs already in the nest.
What was also interesting (perhaps she makes certain sounds?) but for a short time around 3.12-3.14 the male was also on the nest watching her, head cocked seemed intrigued but suddenly flew off.
