How exciting! Any clue from the picture if this osprey might be either Bea or Jasper? I'm excited so see more activity on the nest and sure hope it results in some eggs and chicks. Thanks, Moderator, for starting the new 2012 blog and keeping us up-to-date with information and pictures.
(And hey to Beth in Ohio!)

Welcome back Beth and Vivian. Here we go again!
Yes Mod, any clue as to who this might be on the nest?

Hey Carol,

I haven't looked at past photos yet, but I don't immediately recognise the male osprey. I'll check out previous seasons and see if there is a match.

Hey to Carol.

I wonder if all this warm weather has made the returning osprey wonder where they are. Seems like we should be seeing more activity by now--building up that nest for this season!

Am I imagining it or are there new pine cones on the nest?

Good morning Judy,

Yes, there are new pine cones on the nest. I noticed that as well this morning.

I'm currently going through last year's photos to verify if the male osprey that's been on the nest the last few days has visited us before.

Notice the dark feathers just above the right leg of this guy? Is that a clue as to who he is?

Noticed the same thing Carol. I'm still going over photos of past osprey on our nest. I'm looking at head, chest leg coloring and still can't find a match. So as far as I can tell at this time, he is new to our tower.

Hope we don't have any conflicts of interest!
