Today marks the 38th day since the third egg was laid. Hopefully we'll see the third chick soon, which will have a disadvantage to its siblings.

I wish #3 would pop out today. Too many days going by and #3 will have a difficult time fighting for food. Bea and Jasper have done a great job with the nest so the little ones will be warm and safe. Now Bea needs to do a little pecking on that third egg!!

Great news!! Staff at Loch of the Lowes are very pleased to confirm that there are now 4 eggs in the nest.
(This from an osprey that has come to this nest 23 years. She has a young mate from last year and he seems very capable to care for this clutch.)

Do we have three chicks today? Camera not close enough to tell how many Bea is feeding.

I am kinda hoping the 3rd egg is not viable. It hardly stands a chance with the first two being so much farther along. Very sad.

Vivian,

As of this morning the third egg appeared to be intact.

I agree with Carol. If #3 hatched tomorrow, it would be six days and 4 days that #1 and #2 would be ahead. Not good odds for #3. Two is a good number!
