The pictures in this season's photo gallery are wonderful. A great beginning record of the 2013 season. Thanks.

I love how the camera stopped for the night--two little chicks looking up at Bea waiting for their fish morsels. Makes for a great screen capture!

What in the world is that in the nest this morning?

Good morning Carol,

Looks like the stalk of a palm.

We are having a great time watching these two chicks grow from our home in Canada. We spent the winter on HHI and I can't tell you how much we love your island and also your osprey. We have our grand children interested also.

The two B's,

Thank you very much! Watching the osprey and their chicks develop each season is pretty awesome. Hope you come back to the island and continue to post to our blog.

Have a great day!!

Looks like the chicks are still rolling around on egg #3, but Bea doesn't seem to be incubating it any longer. I wonder if she will push it out of the nest or at least over to one side. KG and JB seem to be doing well and growing nicely

Hey Vivian,

KG and JB look are growing nicely as you mentioned. Yea, it looks as though the third chick will not hatch, which is for the best. It would have struggled against KG and JB.

Last year when the third egg didn't hatch, Bea eventually moved the egg outside the nest bowl area.

The growing chicks will need all the room they can get. It still amazes us how fast they grow once they hatch.
