At 7:45 am today KG finally fledged.  Will see how he/she fares upon its return to the platform.

KG returned to the platform seven minutes after taking off.  JB's greeted KG's return with much squawking and wing flapping.  They both seem to be sizing up the other now.

Has there been any discussion regarding the un-hatched egg which remains in the nest i.e. will it be removed and x-rayed for scientific purposes?

Hey Winter Resident,

No, the egg will remain where it is. We do not intervene with mother nature, where the ospreys are concerned. The egg, for whatever reason, was not viable.

Wondering who caught the fish this a.m. or did the parents furnish breakfast? Thanks! R

Jasper brought the fish in for KG and JB.

At 9:35 this morning, it looks like KG and JB were resting up a bit and trying to decide whether or not to take off again. So nice watching the, but a little sad because it means they soon will be leaving the nest for good. Another couple of months or so to watch?
