We currently have a new pair at our nest. We'll have to wait and see if Bea and Jasper from the past three seasons return to claim the platform. The new male has been steadfast in repairing the nest since his arrival a few weeks ago.

Love the new camera! Or is it the same one with a different view?

Hey Carol,

We installed a new camera last year in January. The camera is positioned on a higher bracket enabling a full view of the nest, no more panning about to view the ospreys.

But Moderator, I'm still confused about how we are getting a view of our osprey perched up on a post of some sort instead of the nest view. Are you now able to turn the camera for different views?

The camera is able to pan, tilt, and zoom (PTZ) so we can change views if we so choose. Normally the camera is set to view the entire nest, but if an osprey happens to be sitting on an antennae, we can pan over to watch it perching on our communications equipment.

The old camera was also PTZ, but it was too close to the nest; therefore, we couldn't get the entire platform into view.
